ARCHITECTURE IN MATERIAL AND DETAIL - Tectonics and Space
This course I had during the autumn semester of 2022 at Lund University. The goal is to explore the relationship between architecture, building structure, and materials. Through case studies of buildings with notable tectonic features, we analyzed the meaning and symbolism behind their design. The course also aims to provide an understanding of materials and technologies used in different periods of architecture and encourages practical exploration through model-making. The studied examples span various historical eras to capture universal architectural phenomena. In my group, we explored the Thomas White Building by Arup Associates in Oxford, United Kingdom.
